Custard and Mustard
Even Carlos can beat the summer heat and take the subway to the beach in this second book that features Coney Island.
Both exciting and nostalgic, this magical tour of a New York summer ritual rings true!
“Custard and Mustard” captured the same award as their first book, winning the 2010 IPPY Gold Medal for Best Children’s Book.

Since my visit last year with Alison, at the 2010 Westminster Kennel Club dog show, I have been thrilled to discover all the joy her super bright and luscious paintings have brought to young and old alike.
Her original oil paintings become the captivating and endearing illustrations for this series of children’s picture books that we are delighted to add to our inventory of works by our customers.
We hope you will find inspiration for your art, in these pages, as well. The real “Carlos” is pictured at the 2011 Christmas Feet charity fundraiser in Bryant Park, NYC, as is Alison reading to her fans at the Three Tarts Bakery, Chelsea.
